About Dalmend Home

Interiors built by hand to be lived in.

Dalmend Home is a journal of considered interior design for high-end houses and mansions - rooms shaped by proportion, material, and a deep respect for how a home should feel.

The story

A house becomes a home in the detail

Luxury interiors are too often reduced to expensive objects placed in expensive rooms. The result photographs well and lives badly - spaces that impress for a moment and comfort no one.

Dalmend Home was founded on a quieter idea. That true luxury is restraint, craftsmanship, and light handled with intent. The journal exists to document that approach: how grand spaces are made warm, how materials age gracefully, and how a mansion can still feel like somewhere a family belongs.

"We design for the third year of living in a house, not the first photograph of it."
The philosophy

Three principles, every project

Every space Dalmend Home explores is measured against the same standards - the foundation of a calm, enduring interior.

I
Proportion
Scale and balance considered before colour or object. A room that is correctly proportioned forgives almost everything else.
II
Material Honesty
Stone, timber, plaster, and metal chosen to be touched and to age - never finishes pretending to be something they are not.
III
Light
Natural and layered light treated as the primary material, shaping how every hour of the day moves through a home.

Behind the journal

OG
Olivia Grant
Founding Designer

I have spent my career inside large homes - the kind with the scale to impress and the constant risk of feeling cold. My work has always been about the opposite: bringing intimacy and ease into rooms that could so easily lose it.

Dalmend Home is where I share that thinking openly. Not as a portfolio, but as a journal of method - the reasoning behind a layout, the logic of a palette, the small decisions that separate a beautiful house from a home worth coming back to.
